June 4, 2015

On April 1st, 2015, the industrial standard literature on “Zirconium silicate grinding media (No. JC/T 2247-2014), was officially brought into effect after the approval of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China. King’s Ceramics is one of the important drafters of the standard.

The literature standardizes the zirconium silicate grinding media in terms of terminology, definitions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection procedures, mark, package, transportation and storage, etc. The standard is applicable to grinding media ball between 0.5-15mm with zirconium silicate content above 60%. This standard unifies detailed test method of zirconium silicate grinding media ball, especially in aspects of wear rate, roundness and hardness. The standard also fills a gap in the industries where zirconium silicate grinding ball is commonly applied.

As the market leader of grinding media, King’s initiated the project as a main drafter, King’s participate in drawing up and amending the standard. In May 2013, King’s responded to all the concerns from the panel of Technical Committee 194 on Industrial Ceramics of Standardization Administration of China. The standardwas issued On October 14th, 2014, and was officially put into practice onApril 1st, 2015.
